Raising funds for Centrepoint

There are 80,000 young people experience homelessness every year. Centrepoint support 1,000 of them with housing, health and learning.

I will be aiming to complete the Ealing half marathon for the second year running and hoping to raise some vital funds for Centrepoint.

There will be some signed goodies via eBay to help boost the funds raised.

Keep up to date on the Facebook page

Training and the Staines 10K

Good to see the Staines 10K on Sunday May 19th has nearly reached its 600 entrants maximum and raised over £400 for charity through entrance fees. I am running and raising funds for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS).

I am doing a couple of runs per week at the moment although the warmer weather does tend to entice me out more. Yes I freely admit I am a fair weather runner 🙂

Still looking for a half marathon between June and late August. My home town Potters ‘Arf would be ideal but I can’t make that weekend. Any suggestions most welcome.

Hope to have some more signed goodies soon. Have a fair few requests out there and just hoping some respond.

My JustGiving pages are:

http://www.justgiving.com/stokie2013 (for the NDCS)

http://www.justgiving.com/rochdale2013 (for CLAPA)

Any help promoting them very much appreciated.

Dante Fox goodies raising funds for CLAPA & NDCS

BIG thanks to Dante Fox for kindly donating two CD’s and t-shirt. You can bid on them here:

CD for CLAPA

CD & t-shirt for NDCS

The running is going okay, I tend to do one to two runs per week over the winter and then ramp it up in February/March time. I am very grateful to anonymous donations on JustGiving for my fundraising for CLAPA. Truly humbling and now means over £400 has been raised for CLAPA 🙂

Just Giving stories to spread a smile :)

The tigers who came to tea

More than 200 roaring tigers are on the loose in Surrey. But there’s nothing to fear – the stripy youngsters are children getting into the spirit of tiger day, highlighting the cat’s fight for survival.

Giggles for poorly children

Being in hospital can be a scary time for children. Enter: the giggle doctors. They prescribe smiles and laughter to brighten the days of young patients

Sock cats change the world

Once upon a time, a pair of socks decided to change the world by fighting pancreatic cancer. And with Rachel Cooke’s help – she transforms them into sock cats – they are well on their way.

Fundraising totals update

Thanks to a very generous soul, my fundraising total for Children with Cancer UK ahead of the Staines 10K now tops over £170 🙂

Big thanks to them and all who have supported/spread the word so far.

Over on the charity auctions for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK a load of requests have gone out to various bands/comedians/sports people I like. Already had a pledge of a signed DVD from John Bishop who completed a grueling cycle/row/run from Paris to London for Sports Relief. A short excerpt of his running:

I was so inspired I am up for another marathon! What a great effort on his behalf and over £3m raised.
